President's Update
July 31, 2001
Dear Members,
I would like to thank all the people who showed up for our July
18th meeting, I think it was a tremendous success.Like I stated
at the meeting we (civic board members)had looked forward to
the day our members rallied together as one.We can't stop here
though , there is plenty of work
to be done.
We have gotten 133 Buckram Rd postponed again by the Nassau County
Planning Commision. We do need some help! If
anybody has any knowledge of any HISTORIC INFORMATION pertaining
to ANY PARTS OF BUCKRAM RD,please contact ME or PAUL.This
information is very important to us so even if it is small please
don't hesitate.
Also, people have expressed to me their disappointment in seeing
more buildings knocked down.( i.e. near the old Country Inn),
as I've said before, our strength is in numbers so don't hesitate
to write to any newspaper or public official stating your disappointments
or concerns.
My final thoughts to you, please try to get more people as members
so we can expand as a force in OUR COMMUNITY, voice our opinions
and get results that we are happy with.
